Broadway beginnings
Alessa’s professional performing career rocket launched at age 19 when she was chosen to star opposite Dukes of Hazzard legend Tom Wopat in Pittsburgh Civic Light Opera’s production of 42nd Street. She made her Broadway debut on the heels of her college graduation from the internationally renowned University of Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music, when cast in the Original Broadway production of White Christmas, helmed by acclaimed director Walter Bobbie. She then went on to originate the character of Young Helen, in Happiness at Lincoln Center directed and choreographed by multi–Tony Award winner, Susan Stroman. Alessa then embarked on the First National Tour of Little House on the Prairie the Musical portraying the role of Mary Ingalls, opposite original Little House on the Prairie Star Melissa Gilbert as Ma. Over the next decade, Alessa’s career flourished. She is most proud of being hand picked and directed by film icon Julie Andrews and Tony winning choreographer Christopher Gattelli in the world premiere production of The Great American Mousical where she starred as Wendy, as well as her star turn as Ella in Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Cinderella on Broadway- where she carried an entire show on her back in front of thousands of people for hundreds of performances. Alessa is still a proud member of Actors Equity Association & Sag-Aftra.
After 15 years bouncing between NYC and Los Angeles, CA, Alessa knew it was time for a change. She and her husband moved to San Diego, CA to live in the environment that they always knew brought them the most joy. Alessa’s deep desire to teach others the valuable tools she learned over the years led her to become the resident mindset coach for an acclaimed career coaching firm, before starting her own business. She attributes this great leap of faith and the abundance that has graced her life ever since to the three “A’s”.
